saffirepro hardware monitoring not working

Description

for some reason the saffire pro 26io's internal monitoring (ie using IMixL/R in the ffadomixer) don't seem to have any effect, and the only way i can monitor input signals is through jack software. selecting 'hardware' monitoring in ardour has no effect either.

i don't know if this is intentional, but i also find that most of the controls in ffadomixer do nothing with no running jack instance. is it possible to use ffado by itself for things like setting the hardware mix settings, phantom power etc? i really need this functionality and would prefer not to have to have jack running in these circumstances (using the saffire as a live summing mixer basically)

thanks porl

The input monitoring should be fixed from r1368.

Note that there is still some strange behaviour when the level is reduced: if you reduce the output level of a slider below a specific threshold (still to figure that out), the device seems to mute this channel automatically without setting the mute bit. Therefore if you turn it back up no sound is heard. You have to manually mute and unmute the channel for sound to be present. I'm going to try and figure out what is happening.

  • status changed from assigned to closed.
  • resolution set to fixed.

(In [1369]) fix #153: the range of the low-res controls is 0-127, not 0-255. All controls on the saffire pro should now work fine
