Can't attach driver with two soundcards dasiychained (Saffire Pro 40)

Reported by: orl Assigned to:

Keywords: daisy-chained Cc:
The device the bug applies to: Focusrite Saffire Pro 40

Description

Jack doesn't start, it can't attach the driver, it stops on an ADAT port. On the soundcards (two Focusrite Saffire Pro 40), the "locked" led is on though the "FireWire?" led is off. ffado-dbus-server seems to work, as weel as ffado-mixer.

I'm using libffado-2.0.99+svn1968-1 from Debian SID source package with dpkg-builpackage. I've obtained the same result by using directly from ffado.org svn.

I use jackd2 1.9.6~dfsg.1-5 from Debian experimental sources, with ./waf configure --prefix=/usr --firewire --dbus --classic and then dpkg-buildpackage. It provides jackd2-firewire and jackd2.

The logs with -v6 are attached to this ticket.

JFTR, it was a typo: instead of jackd -P80, orl typed "-p80", limiting the number of ports in jackd to 80. With two devices and 40+2 channels each, jackd hit this limit.
